A club for Miata drivers in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. We like to get together to drive the back roads and find out of the way places to stop for refreshment. Come join our group and hang out with people that like to do the same things you do! Check out our blog site above to see our Newsletters.

5-25-2019Jefferson / Caddo Lake / Texarkana RunClub Members: You will definitely want to join us on this 3 day, 2 night trip to Northeast Texas on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, 2019, for fun driving, beautiful scenery, check out some great vintage cars, eat some great food, a visit to the only natural lake in Texas, pick up a challenge spot and, maybe, see a few ghosts. For hotel reservations in Jefferson, contact the Executive Inn and Suites at 200 S Walcott St, Jefferson, TX 75657, (903) 665-3700. The cost is $84 per night plus taxes. The run to Jefferson, TX will begin by meeting on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM for a 9:00 AM departure from Buc-cee’s at 506 W I-20, Terrell, TX. We will head East to Marshall and have lunch at Jucy's followed by a private tour of Garage Mahal. We will drive to Jefferson for a late afternoon tour of The Grove haunted house. The cost for the Grove tour is $8 and limited to 20 people. After dinner, we will do the Jefferson Ghost Walk. The cost for the Ghost Walk is $16, or $15 on-line at On Sunday we will leave Jefferson and drive to Caddo Lake in East Texas and have lunch at Big Pines Lodge followed by a visit to the General Store and a visit to the Bigfoot statue. On Monday we will depart Jefferson and drive to Fouke, AR, home of the Fouke Monster and The Legend of Boggy Creek. We will visit Monster Mart, make a stop in Texarkana at the split United States Post Office challenge spot with lunch at Big Jakes before heading home.
6-08-20199th Annual Ancient Ovens RunGerry Sauls will again be leading us to St. Jo on the ninth annual Ancient Ovens run on June 8, 2019. The time is 8:00 PM for the meal and the price (same as last year) is $24 per person. This includes pizza,atmosphere and tax. They also provide water and tea, you provide the adult beverages of your choice. Please go to their website for more details. IMPORTANT: They are only allowing 40 people max for the evening on a first-come basis, so it is imperative that you book your reservation quickly. The e-vite will contain the instruction for booking on-line. Once you have signed up, please email Gerry to let him know you are going. The time for meeting at Buc-ees for the start of the run is forthcoming.
6-09-2019Blue Ostrich Winery Annual Picnic RunAfter the Ancient Ovens dinner Terrie and I are not wanting to drive all the way home.  So we plan on spending the night in Gainesville at the Quality Inn.  This gives us a great opportunity to go to the Blue Ostrich Winery Annual Picnic, which is the next day (Sunday 6/9) at 12:00 noon. I have reserved six rooms at the Quality Inn; 600 Medal of Honor Blvd, Gainesville, TX, 76240Phone: (940) 841-6308  in my name (Richard Rogers) for $79.99 plus tax.  They have a hot breakfast for Sunday morning.  When you make your reservation, have them change one of my reserved rooms to your name and give them your credit card number.  After breakfast, we can go across the street to enjoy the Medal Of Honor Park  before leaving on our drive to the Winery. The winery picnic cost is $20 ($10 for wine club members) and can be purchased on line or by calling (940) 995-3100.  The picnic includes lunch, a glass of wine, a souvenir glass, and a selection of wine tastings with food pairings.  There is also live entertainment.  NOTE: as of April 30 the web site is not yet set up to make reservations for the picnic.  This will happen soon.  We will let you know. Sunday morning at 9:30 am, we will depart the Quality Inn for a drive through the country to the winery.  We will stop at Fischer's Grocery in Muenster for a rest break and snack purchase.

6-27-2019NWA 20th Anniversary CelebrationClub Members: This year will be the 20th anniversary of the NW Arkansas Club, and they have invited us to join them in a celebration on their home turf in Bentonville, AR this June. Check-in is Thursday, June 27th at the Comfort Inn Bentonville, 3001 NE 11th Street Bentonville, AR. Phone (520) 257-4470. Rooms are all double queens and are $94.00 per night for standard or suites. Feel free to arrive Thursday or Friday. There will be group rides on Friday and Saturday, with Friday night being open to do whatever you want. Saturday will be drives followed by a group dinner. The costs of the event will be $35 per person which includes dinner, prizes, goody bag and covers other expenses. The T-shirt is optional and not included in the fee. Other clubs, such as the Kansas City, Bluebonnet and Utah clubs, will be joining in the fun as well, so it should be a fun event. Plans are still in development, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. There will be a sign-up sheet coming soon from the NWA Club. This is a 370 mile trip (straight shot to Bentonville) for those who want to get there fast. For those who want to do it “The Miata Club Way”, we will do it in two days driving some of the best roads in Arkansas. On Wednesday, June 26th, we will meet up in McAlester, OK and spend the night at the Comfort Suites Hotel, $67 - $71, 918-302-0001. A block of rooms has been reserved, so call soon to book your room. We will get an early start on Thursday morning driving the Talimina Trail East stopping at Queen Wilhelmina Lodge in the Quachita National Forest. We will turn North and drive the Pig Trail, then head over to Bentonville arriving late afternoon. There will be more information shared as it becomes available.
