If you have come to this site you already know something about the Texas Miata Round Up. It began in the late 1990’s with the intention of bringing Miatas, which later became the bestselling roadster in history, and their owners together for a long weekend filled with comradeship and fun centered on the Miata. The strong friendships that have formed over the years were an added bonus.

The Round Up is held once yearly and typically in the fall. In past years it has been based in Galveston, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Alpine, and Denton. We Texans are fortunate in that we can find scenery to please our mood. We have desert to forest to plains to lakes and the Gulf of Mexico via Galveston Bay. We may have to do some driving to see it all but driving a Miata makes it that much more fun.

The goal of the Texas Miata Round Up is a top notch event, fellowship, fun roads, beautiful scenery and Texas style food. The most important goal being FUN for all who participate. Because of that, the reputation of the Texas Miata Round Up has spread throughout the USA and even into Canada. You will see license plates from most any state and all are welcome. You do not have to belong to one of the Texas Miata Clubs to participate. All you need is a Miata.

For 2016 the Texas Miata Round Up will be November 10th through November 13th in Huntsville, Texas. Check-in will begin November 10th (Thursday afternoon) at the Hampton Inn which will be basecamp for the event and all runs will begin and end there.

Huntsville is a city in and the county seat of Walker County, Texas. It is approximately seventy miles north of Houston on Interstate 45 and located in the East Texas Piney Woods. Huntsville is the home of Sam Houston State University and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Huntsville’s founding dates back to 1836 when a trading post was established with a post office following in 1837. Huntsville became the home of Sam Houston who served as the President of the Republic of Texas and then Governor of the State of Texas. General Sam Houston led the Texas Army in the Battle of San Jacinto, where victory gained independence from Mexico.

Huntsville has an extremely rich history and was an easy choice for this year’s Round Up. We look forward to making new friends and seeing those from prior years.

See you in Huntsville in November!

Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Come and join in the fun!

The Miata Wave
Everyone knows that Miatas are a really fun car to drive. It's a Universal Truth. This makes their drivers happy and generally a very friendly bunch. The obvious result of all this happiness is that Miata drivers tend to wave at other Miata drivers and even drivers of other convertibles. When a Miata's top is down and it's driver sticks their hand up and waves out the top of their car at someone, this is 'The Miata Wave'. You will see this activity happening on roads throughout the country.

Not only does The Miata Wave make the person waving feel better, but the other driver generally feels better immediately too and waves back. The initial result of all this waving will be the beginning of 'Miata Envy', which is when drivers of other cars start to wish they were in a Miata too. I know this is starting to sound like a popular commercial, but Miata Envy leads to more people buying Miatas, which leads to more members in our clubs!

So everyone seize the moment, spread the joy and practice The Miata Wave at every opportunity!
