It's time for a ROUNDUP!
The dates have been set. Mark your calendars and plan to come to North Texas:
October 11th thru 14th, 2018.
The
Lone Star Miata Club of Dallas/Fort Worth
will be hosting the 2018 Texas Miata Roundup in Granbury just south west of Ft. Worth. Details are still being finalized, but the date has been set for Thursday October 11th thru Sunday October 14th.
We have completed negotions to have a Track Day on Friday at the Motor Sport Ranch in Cresson for those interested. We will be defraying a portion of the costs for the Track, but Track Participants will have to pay an additional fee for use of the track. There will be an option to attend the Track Day ONLY and not participate in the remainder of the Roundup for those local racing enthusiasts that just want to zip around the track.
We are still working on finding some fun roads, but have already identified a number of good places to go and how to get there!
We have lined up a good BBQ dinner in the park for Friday night. It's optional and won't cost much. There are several good restaurants nearby if BBQ is not your thing.
We have made arrangements for a steak and chicken dinner at the banquet that should make everyone happy. We will also be handing out the pins and t-shirts to those who completed the Texas Miata Challenge this year at the banquet.
If you have not already done so, use the GET EMAIL UPDATES on the left side of the screen to give us your email so we can keep you notified as we complete our plans -- OR -- You can now use the REGISTER button in the upper right corner to register for the event.

The Miata Wave
Everyone knows that Miatas are a really fun car to drive. It's a Universal Truth. This makes their drivers happy and generally a very friendly bunch. The obvious result of all this happiness is that Miata drivers tend to wave at other Miata drivers and even drivers of other convertibles. When a Miata's top is down and it's driver sticks their hand up and waves out the top of their car at someone, this is 'The Miata Wave'. You will see this activity happening on roads throughout the country.
Not only does The Miata Wave make the person waving feel better, but the other driver generally feels better immediately too and waves back. The initial result of all this waving will be the beginning of 'Miata Envy', which is when drivers of other cars start to wish they were in a Miata too. I know this is starting to sound like a popular commercial, but Miata Envy leads to more people buying Miatas, which leads to more members in our clubs!
So everyone seize the moment, spread the joy and practice The Miata Wave at every opportunity!
